The Summerland Community Arts Council will be holding a Comedy Night Fundraiser on Friday, March 27th at 7:00 pm at the Summerland Arts & Cultural Centre, 9525 Wharton St. in downtown Summerland.
We’re thrilled to announce the sponsor of this Comedy Night for the Arts is the PetBarn, here in Summerland. Our sincere thanks go to Allan Logue for his support of the arts! All ticket sale proceeds will go to the Summerland Community Arts Council in their mission to continue offering programs, events, gallery shows and access to the Arts for everyone.

The Comedians
Velina Taskov may be petite, but her comedic presence is larger than life. What does a globe-trotting AustralianMacedonian vet tech think of life in Canada? Her observations may not be what you expect but they will be real and riotous. Although new to the scene, she is already commanding attention as a comedy powerhouse. Velina has performed both internationally and locally and has been seen at such events as Comedy Bloodsport, the Wine & Laughs Comedy Fest, Kamcomedy Fest, Calgary Funnyfest, Kelowna’s Fringe Festival, Okanagan Comedy Fest and most recently Just for Laughs North West 2019 The Outsiders winner.
Also appearing will be Alberta’s top comic, Jordan Strauss. He destroyed the competition to take first place and now he’s coming to rip the roof off the old library! He’s appeared at Just for Laughs Northwest, won Comedy Bloodsport, headlined the Wine & Laughs Comedy Festival. You’ve laughed at his jokes on Comedy is Fun…Live on Shaw TV and at the Okanagan Comedy Festival. Now get up close and enjoy Jordan Strauss in person, live for the Summerland Community Arts Council!
This wonderful night of laughs will be hosted by David Kopp. Dave is originally from Summerland and is the founder of Kelowna Comedy. He has performed across Western Canada and appeared on Just for Laughs Northwest and at several comedy festivals and contests. He is the King of the North Comedy Contest Winner and is always ready for a good time. He is so excited to help this fantastic cause.
