Big White Ski Club podiums in Edmonton
This past weekend the first races of the Western Canada Ski Cross Series were held on the ski cross course at Sunridge in Edmonton. This race was the first stop in a series of races across the West for athletes U12 and older and approximately sixty athletes from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the U.S. including five skiers from the Big White Ski Club.

The Sunridge track consists of natural and artificial features such as banked turns, doubles, rollers and wutangs. Course training took place on Friday, racing commenced on Saturday and continued until Sunday afternoon offering some fantastic spectator entertainment!

The Big White Ski Club and Coach Martin Little were treated to three beautiful sunny days at the Sunridge ski cross track. During the first day of competition, Finley Cashin finished in first place overall in the Men’s U14 category while Ben Hare also finished on the podium in third place. Emily Veitch, Shayna Little and Kasey Bannon all qualified for the quarter finals in the Women’s U14 category.

On the second day of racing, Ben Hare finished in first place overall in the Men’s U14 category with Finley Cashin finishing in second place. While Emily Veitch, Shayna Little and Kasey Bannon all qualified for the quarter finals in the Women’s U14 category.
