Local Company Plans to Help Eliminate Plastic Straws
Kelowna-based company Brush Naked plans to launch bamboo straws in a bid to reduce single-use plastic straws.

Brush Naked currently sells bamboo toothbrushes as an alternative to plastic manual toothbrushes. As they have established solid ground in the oral care market, they now turn their attention single-use plastic straws. Company founder, Sean McHaffie, says that it was a natural progression for the company (https://vimeo.com/300618430/3c32dd9043). They have been in business four years and have a great understanding both of the scourge of single and low-use plastic and the miracle plant bamboo. The straws will be sold under the brand name Sip Naked and the company hopes they'll be on the market soon. They are currently running an Indiegogo campaign to help with start up costs (https://igg.me/at/sipnaked/x/16238330).
