EVENT: Time is Now! For Sustainable Development
"There's No Plan B, Because There's No Planet B." The time is now to earn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
On February 21, 2017 Global Citizen Events will be bringing the community together in an upbeat, inspirational evening to encourage citizens to take action on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development goals. Participate in this rare opportunity to hear from Okanagan Mayors, Westbank First Nations Chief, and Regional District of the Central Okanagan discuss the future of sustainability for the Okanagan, and our planet as a whole.
The Sustainable Development Panel will feature:
• Westbank First Nations Chief Roxanne Lindley
• Peachland Mayor Cindy Fortin
• West Kelowna Mayor Doug Findlater
• Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran
• Lake Country Mayor James Baker
• Regional District of the Central Okanagan Board Chair Gail Given
Hear from a United Nations representative who will give a global perspective, connect with local not for profits and charities at the Global Market Place, and meet other active citizens in the community.
There will be an artist on stage capturing the key insights and live entertainment from Lucky Monkey, a talented local band.
Chris Walker from CBC Radio will be the host. This event will be both inspiring and entertaining- looking forward to seeing you there!
