with Unique Contest.
December 1st to 22nd 2017

KELOWNA, BC – Unless Market and Karmyc Bazaar are proud to have organized a local event called #IFoundCole that is happening downtown from December 1st to 22nd, 2017. The event has brought together 17 businesses that are working together to encourage shoppers to head downtown and check out what the downtown stores have to offer. Unless Market and Karmyc Bazaar are both fairly new to the downtown core and they each specialize in providing customers with local products. Unless Market offers an eco-friendly take on everything local including a refill program. Karmyc Bazaar features artwork ranging from original paintings, to prints, clothing, jewelry, pottery and more from 63 Canadian Artists.

The event showcases how much local businesses give back to our community and that they are always looking for new unique ways to encourage people to shop locally. The idea of the event is simple. There are “lumps of coal” that will be in different downtown stores. If you are out shopping, you take a picture of “Cole” and post it on Instagram using the hashtag #IFoundCole and tagging the business you found “Cole” in. Up for grabs is a gift basket worth over $500 that is a collaboration from all the participating businesses.

“Jennelle and I have worked together on a few projects this year. When we met at the end of October we came up with the idea of #Ifoundcole. We really liked the idea but thought it would be even better if we could get a few more local businesses to join us. Before we knew it we had 17 businesses on-board “ says Sarah Coffey, owner of Unless Market.

The list of businesses participating (in alphabetical order) are Amni Apparel, Bia Boro Boutique, Blackfish Apparel, Burke Hair Lounge, ChaiBaba, Funktional, Georgie Girl, Glow Juicery, The Green Vanity, Karmyc Bazaar, Mermaid Tattoos at Skellys Web, One Big Table, Opus Art Supplies, Raw Athletics, Unless Market, Waterfront Gift Shop and Winslow Rowe.

“We love how many other businesses decided to join our event. It really shows how working together to promote each other is better than competing with each other. Our hope is that #Ifoundcole will be a such a huge success that we will have to run it again next year” says Jennelle, owner of Karmyc Bazaar.

The “I Found Cole” event runs from December 1st to 22rd 2017 throughout downtown Kelowna. An Instagram account – I.found.cole - has been set up to encourage people to follow along and see where Cole has been. Karmyc Bazaar and Unless Market are two local shops looking to make a difference with both the products that they carry, and the impact they have on the local community.
