Kelowna Aqua Jets Perform Well At Vernon Kokanee Swim Meet

57 swimmers from the Kelowna Aqua Jets took to the pool last weekend for the Vernon Kokanee Swim Club Fall Invitational Swim Meet.
Together, the Kelowna Aqua Jets brought home over 70 first, second and third place finishes. Leading the way was 12 year old Abigail Jerome with eight first place finishes; 12 year old Liam Collie with six first place finishes; 10 year old Aiden Kirk with three first places and six second places; 14 year old Rachel McInnes with two first place swims and five second place swims; 14 year old Nathaniel Hees with two second place finishes and three thirds; and 10 year old Megan Forrest with five seconds and one third.
Other swimmers who took home medals include Pierson Piche, Ava Toyata, Jovin Bertoia, Madi Comeau, Meagan Corrigan, Olivia Courtenay, Sarah Courtenay, Oliver Dickieson, Annika James, Breanna James, Athina Merckx, Jacob Piche, Kaleigh Reese, and Kodi Wiman.
Kelowna Aqua Jet swimmers performed well against their own best times. Swimmers who swam to 100% best times include Meagan Corrigan, Tomas Faccina, Sarah Courtenay, Megan Forrest, Athina Merckx, Kodi Wiman, Jovin Bertoia, Kaleigh Reese, Olivia Dorantes-McCarten, Jacklyn Pengilly, Avery Simpson, Sydney Macfarlane
Swimmers who qualified for the 12 and under Girls and 13 and under Boys Tier 1 Provincial Championships include Meagan Corrigan, Sarah Courtenay, Sara Gray, Abigail Jerome, Kodi Wiman, Noah Semashkewich, Aiden Kirk, Pierson Piche, Liam Collie and Kaleigh Reese
Swimmers who qualified for the 13 and over Girls and 14 and over Boys Tier 2 Provincial Championships include Liam Collie, Pierson Piche, Madi Comeau and Ava Toyata.
The Kelowna Aqua Jets also sent 22 swimmers to Vernon to participate in the Jamboree meet. Congratulations go out to Emma Hawkins and Dylan Cawley for breaking the sub four-minute mark in the 200 IM. They now qualify to attend regional meets with the team.
Jackson Bartlett, Emma Lecompte, Gage Meyers, Adelle Tait, Preslee Fleck and Landon Otterson all swam to best times. Summer Ritchie skimmed 9 seconds off her 100IM and Aliyah Otteson knocked her 50 free down by 21 seconds.
The next meet for the Kelowna Aqua Jets is our home meet at H20 November 18 and 19. The Junior Jets Jamboree will be held November 19th at H20.
