InspireHealth's Rain Walk
We are excited to announce the details for the InspireHealth Rain Walk on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 9am – 12pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna for supportive cancer care. With the support of our wonderful community and generous sponsors, last year's inaugural event in Vancouver generated $72,000 to support our cause! This year we aim to raise $20,000 for our programs and facilities in Kelowna and $165,000 organization wide to support individuals living with cancer and their families.

The Rain Walk is a 2.5km route along the Waterfront Park to the Sails before returning to the Rotary centre for the Arts. To sign up for the event, individuals register at www.inspirehealth.ca/rainwalk and seek sponsorship from friends and families. The early bird deadline is February 26th for $30 to participate in the walk or $50 which includes an InspireHealth custom designed umbrella. There will be healthy food and beverages served, along with free swag bags, exciting raffle and silent auction items, and inspirational speakers.

Since April 2015, InspireHealth removed membership fees and now all services and programs are completely free of charge to all members. We are both a registered Not for Profit Agency and an approved and partially funded Ministry of Health Cancer agency. InspireHealth needs to raise $1 Million dollars annually to sustain our services as we are only partially funded by the Ministry of Health.

“InspireHealth plays an important role in supporting those living with cancer along with their families and friends.” says Ashley Phillips, InspireHealth’s clinical counsellor. “Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be a very scary thing. We help patients focus on survivorship by improving their health and well-being. There are many helpful things one can do, such as good quality sleep, exercise, wholesome foods, and creating time to relax, regardless of one’s prognosis. We are grateful to our local community who chose to support us, especially with the many worthy causes available.” This year, Orthoquest Pedorthics and Rehabilitation Inc., Kelowna Kinesiology by Orthoquest, Quality Greens, Wesco Distribution, KelownaNow, Saje, Kelowna Professional Fire Fighters Charitable Society, and KingFisher have chosen to support InspireHealth’s Rain Walk.

InspireHealth provides patients with evidence-based knowledge, tools, and services to support their overall health, during and after standard cancer treatments. Our clinicians offer practical and personalized nutrition, exercise therapy, stress management and counselling services. Patients have continual access to consultations with Physicians, Registered Dietitians, Clinical Counsellors and Exercise Therapists.
