Award-winning Christian fiction author Laura Thomas returns to her English roots

KELOWNA, B.C. August 5, 2024 — Emigrating from the UK to Canada in 1995, Laura Thomas experienced the trials and triumphs of starting a fresh chapter in a new country. Leaving behind friends, family and all things familiar is not for the fainthearted. “I went from the innocent joys of teddy bear picnics with my toddler in the old country to picnicking amidst ‘Beware of Bears’ signs in the wilds of Canada!” said Thomas. “My most recent bear sighting was outside the lighting store in town. At least he had enough common sense to use the crosswalk!”

Despite the bears, frigid Canadian winters and cultural differences, Thomas has no regrets about making the move and calling the gorgeous gem of Kelowna home. “Our family quickly learned to delight in all four seasons and embrace celebrating the beautiful tradition of Canadian Thanksgiving.”

In Thomas’ latest Christian romantic suspense novel, “Captured in Frame,” the protagonist takes the opposite trek. Desperate to begin a new chapter after a heartbreaking betrayal, Canadian photographer Georgia Brooks retreats to her quaint English cottage—only to discover she could be in possession of incriminating evidence framing a criminal ring in the ugly underbelly of the art world.

“Truly, my ultimate desire in writing these fiction books is to encourage,” said Thomas. “I want to inspire readers in their real lives with stories of hope, leaving no shadow of doubt that they are loved by God. Always.”
