The Ogopogo Swimmers mounted a monstrous effort at the BCSSA Okanagan Regional Championships in Kamloops this past weekend. Athletes unleashed a tidal wave of personal best times, qualifying 32 swimmers for the upcoming Provincial Championships also being hosted in the Tournament Capital August 18-21st.

Parents, siblings and team mates persevered through the flood of persistent heat, their support unwavering, cheering the team on to a geyser of top finishes. In all, the Ogopogo swimmers had the other teams "eating their bubbles”, winning 16 gold, 26 silver and 17 bronze as well as advancing 12 relay teams who will all be vying for hardware at the Provincial Championships.

With the support of a Coaching crew who lead by example both on the pool deck and in the pool, this swim meet exemplified the supportive and inclusive environment that makes summer swimming so positive for the swimmers and their families. The icing on the cake was when our very own Coach Katie was announced as the winner of the annual coaching award for the Okanagan region!
