Dystopian Story Touches Current World Events

Sep 9, 2022

Author C.R. Endacott will be signing books at the Kamloops branch of Chapters Indigo on September 11, 2022.

His recent book, The Children of the Earth that Was, is a dystopian story that touches on issues such as veganism, oppression and dominance of women, such as control over what happens to their bodies, and other themes related to colonialism. It will leave the reader reflecting on unsettling events in the story long after they are finished reading.

The story is a grim telling of a future where earth has been colonized by aliens. The technologically superior species dominate the world quickly and begin to establish farms where they raise humans for food. Zee, a young woman born in captivity, ends up a pet to one of the Overseers. Eventually, she escapes, and lives with the free humans underground, where she learns many things about survival, human aggression, and the connection between sex and love.

The Children of the Earth that Was is a must read for those who love a chilling sci-fi story set in a dystopian landscape.

Come visit with the author and get a signed copy of the book on September 11, 2022.
