Wasp Manufacturing Ltd. places No. 72 on The Globe and Mail’s third-annual ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies

Kelowna, British Columbia
Wasp Manufacturing Ltd.is pleased to announce it placed No. 72on the 2021 Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies.

Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranks Canadian companies on three-year revenue growth. Wasp Manufacturing Ltd. earned its spot with three-year growth of 835%.

Wasp provides wildfire protection equipment to both government and corporate clients, along with products specific to homeowners sold through fire departments, online and through major retail outlets. The company has warehouse and head office operations based in Kelowna, British Columbia with a wholly owned subsidiary recently opened in the State of Nevada.

Wasp also holds patents on its gutter mount sprinkler brackets in Canada and the USA and is patent pending worldwide on this product. These brackets allow homeowners and firefighters to easily get water to the roof tops, where needed most during wildfire emergencies, to defend against wind blown embers which are responsible for well over half of all homes lost to wildfire. These brackets are sold online, in retail outlets and on Amazon in Canada, the USA and Australia.

The company also provides fund raising programs to fire departments and FireSmart/FireWise Communities throughout North America, providing our Wasp Residential Wildfire Protection Kits at reduced prices for resale within the community. With over 120 participants, Wasp is proud to have helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for these communities to put towards further wildfire protection programs.

“I am extremely proud of our Community Fund Raising Program” says President Randy Cowling. “To be able to assist, especially smaller communities with volunteer fire departments, in wildfire protection efforts while raising much needed funds…it’s one of our proudest accomplishments.”

Launched in 2019, the Canada’s Top Growing Companies editorial ranking aims to celebrate entrepreneurial achievement in Canada by identifying and amplifying the success of growth-minded, independent businesses in Canada. It is a voluntary program; companies had to complete an in-depth application process in order to qualify. In total, 448 companies earned a spot on this year’s ranking.

The full list of 2021 winners, and accompanying editorial coverage, is published in the October issue of Report on Business magazine—out now—and online.

“As we look toward the future, Canada’s Top Growing Companies offer both inspiration and practical insights for other firms facing similar challenges,” says James Cowan, Editor of Report on Business magazine. “The entrepreneurs behind these companies are smart, tenacious and unwavering in their commitment to their goals.”

“Any business leader seeking inspiration should look no further than the 448 businesses on this year’s Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies,” says Phillip Crawley, Publisher and CEO of The Globe and Mail. “Their growth helps to make Canada a better place, and we are proud to bring their stories to our readers.”
