The 3rd Annual Capital One Race for Kids benefiting Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Raises over $34,000

Jun 9, 2014

KELOWNA, BC (June 1, 2014) –This year 152 participants raised over $34,000 in the 3rd Annual Capital One Race for Kids, benefiting the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.

Teams of four adults competed in a series of 10 themed checkpoint challenges in a race to the finish line. This adventure race was held in Kelowna along with 25 other cities across Canada supporting local Boys and Girls Clubs in each of these cities.

An event designed to let participants be kids again and recreate their favourite childhood memories, the Capital One Race for Kids incorporated activities that focused the mind and challenged the body. Each team of 4 adults was provided with 10 clues. Team were involved with standup paddling, water games at the water park with Waterplay, goofing around with Disney, becoming a bell captain at the Delta Grand, dressing mannequins at Mavazi Apparel and more…..participants were challenged every step of the way.

“This was so much fun. I couldn’t believe all the amazing activities and adventure. We were laughing all the way,” Lindsay Griffin, Race Participant.
