WYANT, Gary Norman

WYANT, Gary Norman

Gary passed away June 24, 2017 at KGH with his family by his side. He was born September 26, 1946 in Spalding, Sask. to Bill and Bernice Wyant and moved to Kelowna in 1951. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Doreen of almost 39 years, daughter Debra, and granddog Bella, brother Lyle and Dianne Wyant of Kamloops, brother John and Debbie Wyant of Kelowna, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He worked for Comet Transport for many years and loved what he did. He loved fishing and camping and his Montreal Canadians! We would like to thank all the staff at Cottonwoods (units A,B,C) who cared for Gary over the fast 3 years as well as the excellent Nurses and Doctors from Dialysis at KGH. No service requested, private gathering will be held June 29,2017 at 1pm.

Arrangements entrusted to Everden Rust Funeral Services Kelowna.

    Hello Doreen & Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of this loss. Myself & Gary did a lot of fishing back in the day and he taught me a lot about the moving and trucking. I have been out of touch for many years now but good to see Comet Transport people still sticking together.
    Sorry for your loss,
    Sheldon Marriott

Gary and I started Grade 1 together at OK Mission Elementary and he was less than 3 months older than I. We remained good friends until his death and shared many a good time together... fishing, golfing, watching hockey and football. He would often correct me on the rules of the game, but he seldom beat me at pool. (he might argue that of course). Gary had a great sense of humour, was very intelligent and played a great game of poker and crib as well... I will very much miss him. To Doreen, Debra and brother Lyle & Dianne, much love and best wishes.

    Doreen & family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Gary was a pleasure to work with and a great guy to be around. We had plenty of great crib games during coffee breaks. My thoughts are with your family at this time.

    Hi Doreen,
Sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Great employee and just a wonderful guy. I remember our conversations about the outdoors (fishing) and hockey. I left Comet before illness forced Gary to retire. Debra was born around the same time as my first son and loved his little girl to bits. I wish you well in this time of grieving and healing.
    With heartfelt condolences.
