WOOTEN, Leonard

WOOTEN, Leonard

Leonard Wooten passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on June 23, 2019.

Leonard was born in Forest Grove, Oregon in May 1928. He married Doloris Hines in 1952, and they raised five children in Oregon. They immigrated to Canada in 1974, living in Kelowna for many years with a few years spent in Montana. In 1996 Len and Doloris moved to a Moyie River acreage near Yahk, BC where they lived until 2016 when they relocated to Cranbrook to be with their son and daughter-in-law when Len was diagnosed with cancer.

Len was a hard-working, thankful, and sociable man with a phenomenal memory. His greatest love was for the Lord Jesus Christ, and then for his bride of nearly 67 years and his family. Len is survived by his beloved wife, children Debi Owinyo, Doug Wooten (Norma), Lynnette Wooten (Don), and Jan Schlenker (Ken) as well as 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pam Tyler (Don) in 2006.

Special thanks are extended to Dr. Greg Andreas for his superb care in the last two months, the nurses and care aids in the in-home palliative care program, and daughter-in-law Norma for her tender and tireless care in the last several weeks.
There will be no public memorial service, at the request of the deceased.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
