WIENS, Marie Verona

February 12, 1947 - July 10, 2022

Marie Wiens passed away on July 10, 2022, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 75 years.

Marie's surviving family will miss her dearly: her beloved husband of 54 1/2 years, Harold Wiens; their children Dwight (Tracy) Wiens, Tammie (Daniel) Veenstra, and Timothy (Cheryl) Wiens; and grandchildren Jason Wiens, Kayla Wiens, Riely Wiens, Joshua Veenstra, and Amy Veenstra. She will also be missed by her surviving siblings: Bill (Norma) Ignatescu and Doris Maniel; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law John (Betty) Wiens, William Dyck, and Marlene Wiens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Gabriel & Lena Ignatescu; her siblings Janet (Lloyd) Hall and Elsie (Nick) Kozma; and her brother-in-law Peter Maniel; as well as her parents-in-law Henry & Mary Wiens; and brothers- and sisters-in-law: Peter Wiens, Kathleen (Edward) Forcier, Abe Wiens, Helen Ann Dyck, Robert (Tina) Wiens, and Harvey Wiens.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at the Kelowna General Hospital on 4B, as well as to the staff at the Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Centre (Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre), www.bccancer.bc.ca.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at First Mennonite Church, 1305 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow.

I am truly sorry to hear the passing of such an amazing lady! Over many years working at Kelowna Hyundai, I adored Harold & Marie. They are salt of the earth folks with such big hearts. I still miss my visits with them listening to Harolds wisdom & jokes in such a warm manner. Marie had such grace and always walked with a smile. My heart hurts today hearing this sad news...
