Obituaries

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George White. He passed peacefully at the age of 88 on November 20 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

George leaves behind two daughters, Laurie Arthur (Jim) and Twyla Randall; three grandsons, Steven Smith, Rodney Hildebrand and Brendan Arthur. George especially fell in love with his dogs, Willie 1 and Willie 2. George was predeceased by his wife and fishing partner Teresa, and his son Steven.

George retired from the City of Vernon, and is remembered for his expertise operating a Grader, many people still comment on the excellent job he did on clearing snow from residential streets in Vernon.

Dad along with mom enjoyed many great moments with friends and family on “Bottle Beach” hosting spaghetti dinners with dad’s special homemade sauce. They also had a garlic sandwich get together, yes GARLIC!!

Dad was always an entertainer, and liked the spotlight.

We will miss you dad, but we are at peace knowing you are finally getting the rest you so needed and wanted.

There will be no Service at this time. We will lay our father, grandfather to rest at a later date.

  It was always a pleasure to be around Whiteys prescence, whether camping, curling, fishing, singing the Monashee song, staff parties, etc.
