In the early morning of November 13,2022, George Wengenmayr took his final journey home at 88 years of age with his wife and daughter by his side.

Survived by his wife of 63 years Annie, his children Mike (Shelby, Kristen) Barb and Greg Taylor (Kayla, Mike) Joyce and Curtis Studer (Cody, Curtis, Ryan (Brianna), great granddaughter Mya) Wendy McLean, Ken Reid (Megan, Sydney). George is also survived by his family in Germany.

George was born in Augsburg Germany on May 13, 1934, he moved to Winnipeg Manitoba in 1957 where he met Annie in March of 1959 and got married November 9, 1959.

George worked as a carpenter for many years he also spent 5 years teaching woodworking to inmates at Stoney Mountain Penitentiary before moving his family to Kelowna B.C. in 1980. This is when George got to enjoy the great outdoors hunting, fishing, skiing and going out for firewood.

George enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the Rutland Senior Centre playing badminton.

Every Saturday morning George looked forward to going to the Tastee Freeze for coffee with his German buddies.

A memorial Service will be held at Valley View Funeral Home Thursday November 24 at 1 p.m. with tea to follow at Willow Terrace common room 3rd floor 489 Hwy 33 W
