WELLWOOD, William Daryl "Bill"
WELLWOOD, Bill, 79, passed away September 13th 2023 in Kelowna BC. Bill was born in Summerland BC in 1944, and worked in Highway Maintenance for 42 years throughout BC, building and engineering many of the provincial highways including the Coquihalla. He was active with Lions Club, Curling, Scouts Canada, and was instrumental in building the Beaverdell Fire Department. He was a Concrete Technician in Victoria, an Avalanche Technician in Stewart BC, Superintendent of Public Works in Spallumcheen, and Superintendent for Emcon in Beaverdell. Bill was quiet, thoughtful, and kind. He enjoyed being with people, and had a very dry sense of humour. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping. He made gingerbread houses every Christmas, and his lemon meringue pies were always well received. He was always ready to lend a hand and help people out - he always kept a turkey in the freezer "just in case." He leaves behind two sons, two grandchildren, and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The IBD Center of BC. Cremation Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, (250) 860-6440.
