WATT, Denzil Lewis

Denzil Watt was born in Regina, Saskatchewan March 9, 1937. It is with profound sadness his family announce his passing April 10, 2025 at Penticton Regional Hospital with his wife Dorothy by his side. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, after a wonderful loving marriage of 55 years, and by his loving family: son, Lonnie Fitzpatrick (Kim); grandchildren, Megan Medrano (Ritchie), Keaton Fitzpatrick (Jaymie); great granddaughter, Lily Fitzpatrick; sister, Linda Robinson; sister-in-law, Milda Rennie and many nieces and nephews.

Denzil was predeceased by his parents, Annie Watt (nee Savage) and Henry Watt; his wife from his first marriage, Sybil Fitzpatrick (Whitehead) and siblings, Gordon Watt, Shirley Mailander; mother-in-law, Vera Hlavsa; sister-in-law, Shirley Watt; brothers-in-law, Bill Mailander, Richie Robinson and Orval Rennie.

Denzil lived a full and happy life. He had many interests and excelled in everything he put his mind to. He loved old restored cars and shared this interest with son Lonnie and brother Gordon. He loved sports and played hockey, baseball, golf, racquet ball, cross country skiing, water skiing, swimming and biking. He enjoyed many years at their cottages on Echo and Pasqua lakes, Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.

Denzil retired from the printing field. He and Dorothy retired together the same day August the 28th,1994 and moved from Regina, Saskatchewan to their Pasqua lake home and became snowbirds. In 2003 they moved to Penticton, BC. They spent 22 winters at their home on the golf course in Mission, Texas and 3 winters in Yuma, Arizona.

Denzil will be missed by family and the many friends he made along the way.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Kelowna and Penticton hospitals that cared for Denzil during his hospital stay. A special thank you to Dr. D. Leitner for his support and care since we moved to Penticton.

At Denzil’s request there will be no formal service.
