WARD, Janis

WARD, Janis

January 30, 1952- March 9, 2018

Jan ascended from this world very peacefully, on the evening of March 9th, at her home in West Kelowna. She was surrounded by close friends and family in a beautiful ceremony.

Jan will be remembered for her fierce bravery, fun-loving spirit and compassionate, loving heart.

Jan was a teacher to many on this earthly plane and will continue to be beyond her lifetime.

She leaves behind her loving husband Bruce, beautiful children Kari and Jeff, and granddaughter Lillian. She is predeceased by her parents Leslie and Denise Halsall. She will be deeply missed by her brothers Dennis, Greg and John Halsall, as well as sisters Karran (Scales) and Mary Ann (Stadlander).

Her celebration of life will be held at Springfield Funeral Home at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 24th. The family has requested that guests wear white and bring a photo of her, if they can.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com.

    To Bruce, Kari and Jeff.

We are so shocked and saddened to hear of Jan's passing. She was such a spirited and enjoyable person to be around. You were wonderful neighbors and although we have not seen much of each other, since you moved to the Westside, we have thought of you often. Jan will not be with us in body, but she will always be around us in spirit. Rest in peace Twinkletoes.

    Sincerely; Richard and Sherry Dahle

I haven't seen Jan for about 8 years. She was a customer of mine. I remember trying to get hold of her once and didn't have her new phone #. I tried for the better part of two days to track her down and she came into the store on the 3rd day.

The first words out of her mouth were " I heard you calling me". I knew right then and there that she really did have a connection to the universe and I do think of her often because of that day. I have only met Kari but she spoke of her family lovingly.

I wish you all the best at this time.

I have many treasured memories of playing euchre at the Ward's house. Jan was always a great host and went out of her way to make sure her guests felt that her home was theirs too.

Gonna miss our great debates Jan!!!
