WALKER, David Gordon

March 10, 1937 ~ November 14, 2023 (age 86)

David Gordon (“Dave”) Walker passed away peacefully at Lakeview Lodge in West Kelowna on November 14, 2023, at the age of 86 with his loving wife of 59 years, Kathy, by his side.

Dave is survived and will be forever missed by his daughter Leanne (Richard) Moffat of Maple Ridge BC, his son Darren (Brenda) of Calgary AB, 4 grandsons – Reily (Elyse) Moffat of Sunshine Coast Australia, Tanner (Alexia) Moffat of Maple Ridge BC, Evan of Brandon MB, Reed of Oakville ON, and 2 great grandson – Knox and Oakley Moffat of Australia. He is also survived by his sister Joan Blattler and brothers Herb (Evelyn) and Ken (Sharron), along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Dave is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Phyllis, his brother Bill, and sisters Dorothy Schroeder and Kathy Harrie.

Dave was born on a farm in Aldergrove BC, the 3rd oldest child of 7 brothers and sisters. He enjoyed an amazing career of over 36 years with BC Department of Highways Design and Survey across many locations in BC before spending the final 25 years of his career in Nelson BC.

He and Kathy retired in Peachland 27 years ago where they enjoyed renovating and moving into 7 different houses in the area.

Dave was very active volunteering in the community. He enjoyed hiking, gardening, skiing and whenever he had a problem, was known for building amazing rock walls to relieve the stress!

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Dave, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or Alzheimer Society of British Columbia. No service by request.
