Gloria May Twiss (Biro)
June 2, 1948 – March 30, 2025
(Auntie Gogo)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gloria May Twiss (Biro). Gloria was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She is predeceased by her only son, Robert Michael Twiss; her husband, Robert Twiss; her companion, Phillip Stang, parents, Joseph and Mary Biro. Sister, Julie Leong. Nephew, Wayman Leong. And Brother in-law Chucky Lam.
Gloria is survived by her two granddaughters, Amber Tobin (April) and Taylor Twiss, whom she loved dearly. She is also mourned by her siblings: Bernard Biro, Margaret Biro (Tim), Evelyn Biro, (Earl) Robert Biro (Diane), Helen Lam, Joseph Biro (Joy), and Caroline Meunier (Robert), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Gloria will also be remembered by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Thew.
Gloria had a special place in her heart for her entire family. A heartfelt thank you goes to her niece, Mayling Leong, for being by her side in her final years and supporting her as she transitioned to her new journey.
Gloria (Auntie Gogo) was deeply passionate about her two granddaughters, Amber Tobin and Taylor Twiss, who were the light of her life. She cherished them beyond measure. Gloria also had a love for her garden; every spring, she would say, "This is the last year for my garden," yet every spring she could always be found on her hands and knees, digging and planting flowers and vegetables. You could always stop by her house for a bowl of creamy yellow bean soup.
Gloria enjoyed spoiling the animals that came by her home. Though she often complained about the pets, she made sure to go out every week and gather their treats. She also loved playing cards—whether it was Mah Jong, Rummoli, or poker of any kind, she was always ready to play.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour at the Penticton Eagles, upstairs, 1197 Main Street, on Saturday, May 24th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Gloria will be missed by all who knew her. She was truly an angel and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
