TURRI, Nita Livia

TURRI, Nita Livia

1927 2017
(nee Guidi)

Nita passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 89. She is lovingly remembered by husband, Caesar Turri; children, Linda (Gabe) Coupal (children Heather, Nicole and Alain), Don (Lucy) Turri (children Samantha, Luke and Mary), Audrey (Lloyd) Bucharest (children Alyson and Rob), and 6 great grandchildren. Nita was predeceased by her parents Emilio and Dolinda Guidi and brother Louie Guidi.

Born and living her entire life in Kelowna, Nita will be remembered for her caring and inclusive spirit. She looked after the care needs of local relatives and those arriving from Italy. Mom was a nurturer, whether it was helping raise her grandchildren or rescuing birds that had fallen from their nest. She was very organized and was a wonderful cook. Dinner was served at 5:45 pm and you must not be late!

Upon retirement Nita and Caesar travelled across Canada and to Italy, to visit relatives. She was an active member of the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club. The front steps to her home were adorned with the most amazing geraniums.

Prayers will be recited on Monday, November 27th at 7:00 pm at St. Pius X Parish, 1077 Fuller Avenue with Fr. Gerald Sekanga as Celebrant. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 at 10:30 am.

We are very very saddened by the news of Nita's passing! Nita and Caesar were our neighbours for many years on Highland Drive North! They were so gracious and genuine and put up with our 4 children as they grew up next to them! They always gifted us with the lovely Italian Panetone bread at Christmas time! Nita was forever cooking and always out front trying to get rid of that darn crab grass that tried diligently to take over their front lawn! We always thought she looked so regal and beautifully put together! Our hearts pain for you Caesar but we know that her energy and love is deeply entwined in your Heart and Soul! We send big hugs to you and your family Love from all of us! Selena,Paul,Alexandria,Rebecca,Cameron and Natasha Grunbaum!
