TINDALE, Peter and Olive

TINDALE, Peter and Olive

It's with great sadness that we mourn the loss of two lives intertwined for 54 years.

Peter Tindale of Peachland, BC passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on January 23, 2022, after a long journey struggling with dementia. He is a legend in the Sand Lake, Ontario community where he was born prematurely at 2 ¾ pounds, at their family cottage in 1930. He attended McGill University and he received his Chartered Accountant Designation. Peter will be remembered for his passion for skiing, tennis, his active outdoors lifestyle and his “quirky” sense of humour.

Olive Tindale of Peachland, BC passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on January 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a gardener who cultivated beautiful flowers, vegetables and loving friendships with those lives she touched. She was a Hair Stylist who rarely had a customer who didn’t become a Friend. Olive was born and raised in Ireland and planned to travel the world. Shortly after arriving in Montreal, she met Peter and within 6 weeks they were engaged to be married. Olive shared her zest for travel and together they embarked on many travel adventures with their family.

Peter and Olive were active members of the Peachland community since retiring here in 2000. They were members of the Telemark Nordic Club, Walking Group, Bridge Club, Tennis, Pickleball, The Legion, 50 Plus Center and the Peachland United Church where Olive was an active volunteer at the Bargain Bin. There will be an empty spot on the Peachland Lakeshore where they spent almost every summer afternoon under the shade of their favourite tree and cooled down with a swim in the lake.

They are survived by their daughters Clodagh Coker (Marty) and Heather Klashinsky (Derrick) and grandchildren Cole, Grant, Madison, and Cassie. Olive was survived by her sister Evelyn Knaggs (James). Peter was predeceased by his brother William (Bill) Tindale (Barbara). In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter and Olive’s name may be made to the BC Lung Foundation.

The family welcomes those who would like to join us in the celebration of their lives on the Peachland Lakefront at the dock across from 4056 Beach Avenue. All are invited to bring a commemorative flower to honour their memory on Monday, January 31st at 2 pm.

Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, (250) 860-6440. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com

    Clodagh, Heather and family

We are saddened to hear of your loss.

Mike met your parents so many years ago at Monkland Tennis Club in Montreal where they were all members and shared so many good times.

When we moved to the Okanagan in 2003 your parents asked us to move to Peachland to be close together. In the end we decided we wanted to be closed to the hospital in Kelowna so settled there.

We have shared many lovely times together and your parents will be missed.

    Dear Tindale family:

So sorry for the lose or your parents, Peter and Olive; they were just wonderful neighbours. Enjoyed dinners at your parents home and lovely tomatoes that your Mum would bring to us. A lovely couple. We were fortunate to have known them. Pat and Helen Rose
