TAYLOR, Kenneth Gordon

TAYLOR, Kenneth Gordon

Born May 9, 1933 in Toronto, Ontario. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of my beloved husband on December 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife Gladys, of Kelowna; his former wife, Dorothy and their three daughters Karen, Donna, Janet; sons-in-law Terry, Dave,Louie; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren in Ontario; his extended family here, my sons, Kevin, Mark, Paul; daughter-in-law Joanne; granddaughter Kristene along with his great grandson Isaac with whom he spent many happy days camping, fishing and just hanging out together talking.
For over 50 years he was Santa to hundreds of children including his own girls and grandchildren, at daycare centres and even for the RCMP Christmas party in Kelowna. Ken was a long-time volunteer with Community Policing, served on the Board of Directors for the Kelowna Safety Council, served three years with Airport Watch and was owner of Kelowna Movers Ltd. for 31 years. Ken passed away at home very quickly and peacefully after a year-long illness, looking at all the Christmas lights in our home, as this was his favourite time of the year. His Celebration of Life will be held on January 26, 2019 at Mission Creek Alliance Church, 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna SPCA.

Ken was more than just a boss for me, he was also a friend. More than that, he was like a third dad and always made me feel like I was part of the family. He was compassionate and we had many heart to heart chats during the years that I worked for him. He is greatly missed.

Will greatly miss my "honey-do-list" neighbour. 25 years of friendship and support. I'm grateful we've had that special relationship.

    Gladys and family,

We can't believe Ken is no longer with us.Its seems like just yesterday he gave me my first chance in my driving career.I will always remember his generosity and caring nature. Although we hadn't been in touch in quite awhile, last fall he helped me with my personal move. His character remained the same as the first day I met him.He will be missed by all.

My sincere condolences to all of Ken's family.

Gladys, remembering all the wonderful and fun times spent with you and Ken. How Ken's eyes would twinkle when he deliberately made some ridiculous statement! Above all his unselfish caring and commitment to his community.
