SYCHUK, Alexander

“The loving family of Alexander Sychuk, of Coldstream BC, would like to share the news of his passing in November. He was 99 years old.

Alexander will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Jean of 77 years; children, Bruce (Roxanne), Susan (Daryl); grandchildren, Veronica (Chris), Michelle (Ryan), Michael (Bridget), Jeremy (Leslie); great-grandchildren, Clayton, Reese, Noah, Ryan, Kalin, Hayley, Hadley, Connor, Aliah; his sibling, Lena, and many nieces and nephews.

Alex was predeceased by his loving son, Kenneth, his parents, Tilley and Tony, and four siblings.

A graveside service is to be determined at a later date.”

To a Jean and all your family

I am saddened to learn of Alex’s passing, and we knew him to be a hard-working, caring, loving family man. We first met Alex and Jean when they moved to Cloverdale and were our farming neighbours. After they moved into Vancouver they visited often.

Our brother Harold, worked with Alex’s brother , Pete, building road in the

Okanagan before Pete and Alma moved to Arizona.

I hope, Jean, that though you’ll miss your dear husband, that you carry on in

good health, and enjoy your grand and great-grand children who will fill your life

with joy, too.

Our condolences Jean and your family on the passing of Alex.

We knew you in Vancouver when we lived on Oak street. We became close to you and your family but we lost touch as we moved away. So many great memories and I still have several of your recipes that I still create and think of you each time. Take good care and perhaps we can meet up again as I now live in Kelowna.

Our heartfelt condolences to our family Alex wife Jean, son Bruce, Roxanne, daughter Susan and Daryl, Bridget and Micheal, Jeremy and Leslie as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alex was a man of many wise words. Both Alex and Jean welcomed me into their home as a small child, with my father Louis Frick taking me there to visit many times. Jean always had cookies, cake and coffee on for all who visited. I remember learning the meaning of “The Greatest Gift”

1 Corinthians 13. Alex was a wonderful Christian man who lived by what he believed. He showed everyone unconditional Love and I’m grateful to have known this man. He instilled these beliefs in his children as well passed down to many of generations. He will live in our hearts and memories for many years to come.
