SVENSON, Robert

The family of Robert (Bob) Svenson is saddened to announce his passing at Hearthstone Manor on March 19, 2018. Bob was born in Calgary on September 20, 1920 to Axel and Muriel Svenson, the older of two boys. The family moved to Lulu Island where he later met the love of his life, Florence (Flo) Williams. They married in 1941. In 1952 Bob and Flo bought a farm in Armstrong where they raised their family and spent the majority of their lives. Bob also worked on construction, worked for the Federal Department of Agriculture, and was a real estate salesman specializing in farm and ranch sales. In retirement they stayed on the farm until 2005 then moved to Lumby, then Carrington Place in Vernon. Bob was predeceased by Flo, his wife of 70 years, in 2012 and his brother Walter in 2010. Left to lovingly remember him are: daughter Dianne Richardson, Lumby, B. C., son Brian (Lola) Svenson, Vernon, B. C. grandchildren: Stephen Svenson, Michelle (Dave) Simkulet, James (Renee) Svenson, Curtis (Sylvia) Svenson, Richard (Alicia) Svenson, Shannon (Brad) Litke, and Shawna (Roger) Green as well as 10 great grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by Gayle Svenson, numerous nieces and nephews, and many fishing friends. His hobbies were gardening, traveling, sq+uare dancing, camping, hunting and especially fishing. He took great pleasure in teaching his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends the art of fishing and fly casting and instilling a love and appreciation of nature. Bob will be remembered for the mutual love he shared with his family and loyalty to his friends and business associates. The family would like to express their gratitude for the warm care and kindness he received from the staff at Hearthstone Manor and Carrington Place. As per Bob

    I had such a wonderful time fishing with Bob and Flo, many many good memories, now he is back with the love of his life, Bob I hope the fishing is great up there.

    Dianne and Shawna, Gayle, Stephen, Jimmy and Richard, my heartfelt condolences go out to all of you at the loss of your father and grand father. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful smile. I often think of all of the fun times we had together while camping at Salmon Lake. May Mr. Svenson once again find happiness with the true love of his love Mrs.Svenson.

    Dear Gayle, Stephen, Jimmy, and Richard

    Very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Svensin. We have many fond memories of our time with your parents (grandparents) fishing at Salmon Lake and visiting in Armstrong. They were both such wonderful people.

    Happy that Mr. and Mrs. Svensin will now be reunited in Heaven.
