To Lloyd's family...growing up in the Mission in the 40 and 50s we had a lot of fun, and it is apparent Lloyd continued thru life the same. He loved his family and his work. Treasure memories...Penny Ivens Baker

Noreen and family, extending deepest sympathies at the news of Lloyd passing. As testament by the varied condolence messages, Lloyd crossed many peoples paths in his lifetime, and left few unchanged by the experience. As our uncle he was, kind, thoughtful, and particularly funny. He had a devoted sense of family and responsibility to all. We will all hold onto many fond memories, Kevin and Gabriele, and all the Kellerman family.

My heart is so heavy for my sister Noreen and her family on the loss of their Dad, grandpa, husband, and friend. Lloyd changed the face of the Canadian wine industry singlehandedly, and is known throughout the world for his contributions to the wine industry. But he was still my sweet and sensitive brother-in-law, who is missed terribly. He gave the toast to the bride at my wedding and I attended their wedding as the flower girl. Memories abound, and will never be forgotten. Love and hugs to the Schmidt family!!!

Sincere condolences to you Noreen and your family. I was recalling your first little home at the vineyard in the Mission

(there was a farm below with peacocks). We were all poor of coin but so rich in all other ways.

Keep your memories close and know that I share your sorrow.

    Hugs - Diane

Lloyd took a chance on a brash 16 year old and gave me my first job in 1972 at Treadgolds Sporting Goods. I have so many happy memories of him and that place. Sid and I gave him a few gray hairs like the time we were target practicing in the back with a speargun and the spear went through the bathroom wall and broke the mirror. When we told him the next morning, he tried to be stern but you could tell he thought it was pretty funny, especially our hang dog faces! He was a great guy to work for and gave us young guys just the right amount of slack (not much!). I've never forgotten him. My sincere condolences to Noreen and the whole Schmidt/ Wilson family.
