SCHENK, John Piere

SCHENK, John Piere

May 25th, 1961- October 26th, 2017

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Schenk of West Kelowna, BC on Thursday, October 26th, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Kathleen; his son John Jr. (Christa); his son Matthew (Kelsey); his father and mother John and Lorraine; his brother Brian; his sisters Terri and Lori (Don). Predeceased by his mother, Mary. John will also be forever remembered by his extended family and many friends.

John was known for his sense of humor, his love for the outdoors, and his compassion towards all. A long time employee of K&S logging, he was incredibly hard working with a drive to support and care for his family. He was a loving husband and father, someone you could always count on no matter what the situation was. Sr

Kathleen, Schenk and Simkins families, With a heavy, saddened heart I feel for your loss of a great guy. I remember as John came to our home in his school years to hang with my brother and the countless times over the years I would bump into John somewhere in the bush or at the fueling station. We would always try to solve some of the logging industry's problems. I'm so sorry for the loss of John; he has been taken from us much too young, but they can't take the memories. My thoughts are with you all.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Osmann

    Kathleen, John Jr. and Matt...

My heart is broken for your loss and all of the Glenrosa families who have had the immense pleasure of knowing such a wonderful man! As many have said, he was always there to help out. He's done so many things for so many people out of the goodness of his heart. The good always go too soon! My yard has many items that John has brought back from the bush to help in our many landscaping projects. These items are now our special treasures to hold close to our hearts in his memory... you will be missed so very much. We Love You Dearly!!

Mo, Bob, Tyler, Keenan and Logan....oh and "The Bears"! XOXO

To Kathleen and the boys, my deepest condolences, it was a very sad day in my heart hearing of John's passing. I met John as a kid and got to know him through my uncles, over the years I saw him on a daily basis at the mill driving for K&S logging. I had lots of laughs with him and his raspy voice, good nature and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. RIP Johnny.

    Sincerely,

    Ed Middlemiss

A real logging brother. Johnny would help anyone who needed a hand in the bush. The bush won't be the same. The news of his passing numbed Herb and I. They would joke about the firewood competition. I would say we are too busy I'm sending to you Johnny's reply nooooo it's cutting into my Miller Time. I loved his mischievous belly laugh. When I worked at Interior Savings Johnny would come and chat. Kathleen, John Jr, Matthew you were his world and he wasn't afraid to tell anyone that. Our hearts both go out to you Kathleen and the boys, he will be sadly missed and everyone who knew him loved him, our condolences go out to you all. We will keep him in our hearts.
