SCHELL, Wilma Dorrene

Wilma Dorrene Schell, called Dorrene by all those that knew her, passed peacefully at the age of 93 on January 20th of this year. She was born at a local nursing station in Rutland, BC on June 28, 1924. After a very short period back east during WWII she returned to Rutland and married local boy, Cliff Schell. They settled on the family farm in Rutland where they remained throughout their lives and raised two children, Linda and Glen. Dorrene was predeceased by her husband Cliff in 2001 and is survived by her daughter Linda (Brian) Gregory of Peachland, son Glen (Marilyn) Schell of Maple Ridge, six grandchildren, Kimberley (Mario) Gregory Avendano, Jaret Gregory, Brandon (Katie), Scott, Bryson & Michael Schell. Six great-grandchildren also survive her; Lilian, Megan & Jose Ernesto Avendano and Blake, Koby & Peyton Schell. A Celebration of Dorrene

Linda, Glen and families,

I was shocked to learn your dear Mom had left us. She had so much vitality and enthusiasm! Her independence (still getting out on her own at 92 !) and dedication to walking and exercising always amazed me. I loved her visits! She always had something to laugh about, and her visits were always so cheerful! She inspires me to "age well". I'll miss her, and send you big hugs and prayers.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. She was a very sweet lady. I line danced with her at the Rutland Senior Centre until she moved away. Fond memories of her.

Glen and family. So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I last saw you at the BW on westside when you were up visiting. It was good to see an old Rutland face. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Linda, Glen and families, I am sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. It is many years since I last met her walking in Rutland and we had a nice chat. I have good memories of years gone by when we were neighbors. Janet Harris
