If he was not working at the job he loved, you could find Troy at a number of outdoor activities, including fishing, gold panning, running, hiking, golfing or just spending time with his family and friends.

There are too many extended family members and friends to mention, but all will miss him.

Troy had a large Fire Family that have been wonderful over the past year with their support and love given to Troy and the family. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us. A special thank you to both Dr. Michael Bobyn and Dr. Greg Dueck for the care they gave to Troy. Sending you ALL my heartfelt and sincere condolences. I was shocked when I heard that he was sick and in Hospice and still reeling now since his passing. Ive known Troy since High School and am honored to say he was My Grad Escort when I graduated in 1984. The Service that was held in his honor was a beautiful tribute to Troy, his family and his life. He will always have a special place in my heart. RIP Troy. Hope your driving the TR-6 you always wanted.

My condolences to the family of Troy, on this day of his service. I met Troy while serving with the Westside Fire Department. What has always stayed in my memories of Troy was his patience, kindness to others and friendly personality. I had been aware that he was sick and although it's been many years since we have spoken, a day hasn't gone by that I haven't thought of what he and his family were going through. The entire family can always be proud of the man he was, and rest assured he will never be forgotten.

    Teena, Josh, Noah and family,

I just wanted to pass along my condolences and love and support to the family. I knew Troy for many years through the Minor Hockey Association in West Kelowna/Westside. During these years, I got to know Teena & Troy and it was always a pleasure to chit chat in my office. His smile and his support of the community and it's youth was amazing and will never be forgotten. RIP Troy...

Teena, Josh and Noah, I was very saddened to hear the loss of Troy, I can remember the times with Troy on and off with the department. I have not seen him in many years but I do remember Troy was a team player, his kind heart and his smile. I also recall his dog. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss and for the loss of a brother of the Westside Fire Department.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Russell family. Troy will be missed greatly, he was such a great family and community minded person. As former owner of Hymart fishing store in West kelowna, we all got to know Troy very well. He was our best local fly-tying supplier. He was very knowledgeable about fishing and loved

the outdoors! We always looked forward to Troy's store visits to discuss his many fishing adventures, activities at the firehall, or just talking about life in general. The news of his recent passing was a shock to all of us! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Teena and family.

I always enjoyed seeing him and chatting with him he was a lovely man. He was always so pleasant and I admired him for going for his dream of being a fireman. I send my condolences with love and fond memories of your wonderful son! Love Laura Enoch your old dental hygienist from the past.

    To the whole family:

No words can bring comfort at this sad time, yet we send words any how. Please cherish the moments, cherish the memories...keep his laugh alive in the stories you tell. Everyone remembers his laugh whether we were with him in high school in the halls of Mt Boucherie or the warehouse of Sunshine Distributors to the Firehall kitchen. And know that it doesn't make sense so don't try and make sense of it....let yourself be sad and let yourself miss Troy everyday and then take strength in knowing that you need to continue to live life large.

Hugs to you all, Lynn Simpson

I was deeply saddened to hear of Troys passing. I met Troy in his early years with the Westside Fire Department as an on call firefighter at Hall 33. We were apart of The Fighting 33rd as we liked to call ourselves back then and later I worked with him at Sun Pointe Village care home before he was awarded a full time roll with the Westside Fire Department. He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace and please accept my warmest condolences to the family, I send thoughts of peace and courage your way.

Kind, gracious, giving, friendly, and smiling are the words that come to mind when I remember Troy from our high school days together at Mt. Boucherie. I always considered Troy such a model for his kids and others by the way he led his life - principled and with strong values. Although I had not seen him in many years, I often heard about him and his success at the West Kelowna FD when I returned to Canada in the summer. My condolences to his wife, kids, and extended family. Greg Corry - Shanghai, China
