RICHARD, Margaret Ellen

RICHARD, Margaret Ellen

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Ellen Richard. Our beloved Mother and Grandmother took her final breath on January 21, 2018 at KGH surrounded by family. A truly selfless person, she was born July 19, 1936 in Edson, Alberta.

Survived by her loving children Christine, Donna, Walter, Sariena and their families. She had eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings Mona, Lorraine, Joesphine, Daniel and their families, plus many extended family members and friends. Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Nora.

After growing up in Prince George, she moved to Kelowna in 1953 and raised her 4 children. Working seasonally at Mac and Fitz Packinghouse and teaching Sunday School at Rutland United Church for many years. Once retired she snowbirded in Mexico for several years, before settling at O.K. Villa to enjoy gardening, her flower beds, family and friends. Dementia stole the final couple of years from her, so she resided at Mountain View Care Home.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Mountain View, Dr. C Livingston and especially nurse Alison at KGH 4B, who we will be forever grateful to for her compassion and caring.

Gone but never forgotten and following cremation, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. No flowers by request.

Arrangements are in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services & Crematorium

I was saddened to hear of Aunty Margaret's unexpected death.

She was such a sweet, kind, caring, loving lady and her memory will be with you forever.

One of my earliest memories of your Mom was when she taught me to decorate the Christmas tree with all her lovely homemade ornaments. I think I was about 7 years old then...... Remember when we all used to live next door to each other? She was a very creative lady and always made me feel welcome with that big smile and quiet soothing voice of hers. My parents always loved to visit with your Mom......remember the Christmas holidays when we all ate too much? Your Mom was also an awesome cook and healer of broken spirits with her calm manner.

Remember the oyster and fish feasts we used to enjoy in your backyard. Remember the home made swing? So many memories.....we will never forget.

Good bye for now Aunty Margaret. Heaven has a new angel.

    Blessings to all her family,

    (Cousin) Marie Davis-Locket and daughters
