RICCI, Livio

RICCI, Livio

May 22, 1954 - September 2, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Livio Ricci on September 2, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer which he tried so hard to beat.

Livio was born to Luigi Ricci and Avenia Di Ruscio in Chieti, Italy. He immigrated to Regina, SK in 1971 to work with his uncles and cousins, and he met the love of his life, Vivian in 1975. They married in 1976 and had three children. Livio worked in various construction trades while in Regina, including framing, home building and renovations.

In 2003, Livio moved to Kelowna, BC, where he started his own successful landscaping company. He loved to work in the gardens and enjoyed talking with many people throughout his day.

In the later years, he took up abstract painting and loved creating his vast amounts of artwork, which his family will cherish forever (livioricci.com).

Throughout his life, Livio loved returning to his home country to visit his parents, siblings, nephews, nieces, numerous relatives and friends.

Livio will be remembered for his willingness to help others, his gentle, kind manner and his devotion to his family. His grandchildren brought him so much joy. He was taken from us too soon and will be loved and missed forever.

Livio is survived by his wife Vivian; daughter Lana (Allan Krak), son Orlando (Melissa Braley) and son Giuliano; his grandchildren Victoria, Adam, Emma, and Brielle; and by his mother Avenia; and siblings Liliana, Roberto, Piero, and Angela.

Livio si faceva volere bene da tutti perché era una persona molto speciale, per questo tutti lo ricorderanno con tanto amore. Riposa in pace, Livio.

We would like to thank the staff at Hospice House Kelowna for the wonderful atmosphere they create for their residents and the compassionate care they provided for Livio in his final days. Thank you to Dr. McCloskey, Dr. Carter, Dr. Bains, Dr. Amigo and many other health care providers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

A Memorial Service will take place on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
