Dear Pia and family, we heard the sad news from Madlen. Just back from our holidays I found Roger's picture on this website and it transported me right back to my first meeting with you, Pia and your lovely family when I spent a month with Madlen and her family. I envied you boys your cool dad (I was 14 then) and your lovely mom, who always was there for me - I visited many times in the years following and you always were like family to me. Roger made me laugh so many times and he included me always in the fun stuff as fixing your cars, driving around with them and camping on the island with you all was the best ever! My girls loved our visit with you in Peachland, we still have the picture with Roger, Leonie and Tabea on the "Rasenher"! We will always hold Roger in very good memory. Pia, my thoughts are with you and your boys and your family. Love Claudia with Leonie and Tabea

Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same.

Roger was a good friend and colleague since he joined BCIT and we shared many happy moments, including his hospitality in his beautiful home in Peachland. Our heart-felt condolences go out to Pia and the entire family. May God's love reward him for his love of family and friends!

I had the good fortune to have Rodger as an instructor at BCIT 23 years ago. He was always upbeat and not afraid to tell you what he thought. We often shared hunting stories and I will always remember his excitement when he talked about his meat locker! It took me a month to figure out he wasn't referring to a store but his favorite hunting hole. Although I haven't talked to Rodger in many years I was saddened to hear of his passing and wanted to pass along my condolences. Oliver Busby

Our heart-felt condolences go out to the entire family. My wife Kathie and I feel so very fortunate to have known Roger and Pia and their boys for so many years and I'm particularly grateful to have worked with Rog during our careers at BCIT. He was a cornerstone of our fish, wildlife, and recreation program and he was as fine a man as I have known. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. With deepest sympathy, Mark and Kathie Angelo
