NYWENING, Betty

It is with great sadness and sorrow, that we announce to all family and friends that our dear “Mama”, Betty Nywening passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 with her husband, daughters and son-in-law by her side.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Nywening; daughters, Lori and husband Mark Hoffman and Judy and husband Leo St Louis; stepchildren, Ron (Karen) Nywening and Sandra (Doug) Vorley; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Ott and Helen (George) Lutz; brother, Bob (Randi) Mantei along with many more extended family and friends.

Betty is predeceased by her father, Ludwig, her mother Mathilda and her brother-in-law, Ewald Ott.

Betty was the most caring wife and mother. She had many jobs, but most enjoyed being a business owner and a care giver. She adored her children and always made anyone she knew feel special. Mom also loved painting, gardening, music and watching the birds eat and play beside her fishpond. But most of all, she loved spending hours chatting, texting, and facetiming with family and friends, spending time at Pillar Lake, Peachland, and many other areas throughout the Okanagan Valley with her children and driving her Mustang GT fast!!

Mom, we love you so much, we will meet again one day, but until then you will never be forgotten and are loved so very much!

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2023 in our Mom’s beautiful garden. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire memorial donations may be made in Betty’s name to the KGH Foundation (https://www.kghfoundation.com/)
