MORRIE, Isabella Rebella

Isabella Rebella Morrie
1930 – 2018

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of Isabella Morrie on January 13, 2018 in Westbank, BC at the age of 87. She will be joining her husband Nick who passed away in July of last year and we know they are happy to be together again.

Isabella was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and although she moved around a lot with Dad as he followed his work, they finally settled in Westbank, BC in 1969. Mom had worked part-time as a telephone operator for Okanagan Telephone and then BC Telephone whenever she could find a babysitter for all 5 kids. Once the kids grew up, she moved in to a clerical position with BC Telephone.

Our house was filled with music and love. Mom loved to entertain, and their friends would come over with their guitars and fill our house with song.

Predeceased by her husband Nick, she is survived by her children Jerry (Debra) Morrie of Sherwood Park, AB, Sandy Morrie of Calgary, AB, Janet (Doug) Reid of New Westminster, BC, Ken Morrie of Kelowna, BC and Lynn (Cliff) Webber of Westbank, BC. Her grandchildren, Brittany, Tyson, Chris and Jennifer.

We would like to thank the staff at Westwood retirement facility and Brookhaven Care Centre for everything they did for Mom.

A private graveside service will be held in the spring to intern Isabella and Nick together at Westbank Cemetery.

    Dear Lynn, and Morrie family,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a great Lady and as a kid I remember her making the best butter tarts and cinnamon buns!
    Truly sorry for your loss,

We are sad to hear of Isabel's passing, however happy Isabella can spread her wings and fly free to meet Nick and her friends. No more worries. We were blessed to have them for neighbours for so many years, and have many happy memories with your parents. Thinking of you all at this sad, sad time.

So sorry to hear about Isabel's passing. I first met her when I started working for Okanagan Telephone in 1973. She was always just a first class lady and always fun to work with.

Dear Morrie family - so sorry to hear this news. I really enjoyed spending time with your Mom whenever I would come back to Westbank to visit my parents. I know how disconcerting it is to lose both parents in such a short period of time.
    Warm regards
