Funeral Homes Submit ObituaryMCLEOD, James Donald (Jim)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Donald (Jim) McLeod, 69, of Armstrong, British Columbia, on February 28, 2025, at Vernon B.C.
Jim was born in Woodstock, Ontario, and was the youngest son of Verona and Donald McLeod.
Jim is survived by his brother Bill (Barbara) Healey of Nanoose Bay, BC. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Verona and Donald McLeod, and by his wife Dorothy, and their daughter Abby, and his brother Jack (‘Mike’) Healey of Calgary AB.
Following university, Jim began his career as a civil engineer in Calgary, AB, working for EBA Engineering. An opportunity arose with EBA Engineering to seek adventure in the Yukon, and Jim and Dorothy relocated to Whitehorse where they lived for over 30 years. In 2014 after retiring, Jim and his family moved to Armstrong, BC, where he made many friends through volunteering at the Armstrong Museum, curling at the Armstrong Curling Club, and volunteering each year at the Interior Provincial Exhibition & Stampede. Jim loved many things: music, books, stamp collecting, and his ever-faithful companion ‘Miss Daisy’, his Portuguese water dog. Jim also loved the great outdoors, whether camping with family and friends, cross country skiing, riding his bike, or walking Miss Daisy.
Rest in Peace Jim. You will remain forever in the hearts of your family and friends.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held on Saturday June 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Armstrong Curling Club, 3315 Pleasant Valley Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Armstrong Curling Club or the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum and Art Gallery.
