MCHUGH, Agnes S.

MCHUGH, Agnes S.

It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Agnes S. McHugh on December 22, 2017. She went peacefully to her Maker in her sleep leaving a hole in the hearts of those who knew her. It was her time.

Born on Februay 22, 1914 in Shanghai China, she came to BC to start a new life with her forever love, William and was married in July. A son was born in 1947 and grandson in 1974 followed by two great granddaughters in the 2000s. Her love of her “little girls” was always foremost in her heart. She lived many places in BC and always managed to make home a warm and loving place. Living in Winfield for the last twenty years she became a familiar face in the community. She embraced the electronic age and corresponded via e-mail to many friends and family around the world and would be pleased with this final announcement in e-format. I hope that those who knew her will find comfort in remembering the times spent in her presence. I feel very blessed to have had such a loving mother.

As yesterday would have been her 104th birthday it is the day she would have been pleased to see old friends and family but for those of us still here we’ll have to wait a bit to see her smile.

Sorry to hear of her passing. I met Agnes several years ago. I was lucky to be her hairstylist for a few years. I loved hearing about all her swimming stories. She was a very smart & interesting lady. Heaven is lucky to have her.

I met Agnes in the 1990's and was charmed by this lovely and dynamic lady. I was amazed that she was still swimming laps all year including winter, even her 80's...... So pleased she led a full life, enjoying computer technology at her age. Good for you, Agnes! I'm glad I got to know you.
