So sorry to hear you got sick Betty. I did not know....? I have lost touch with so many friends since I moved to Summerland & you were one of them. I remember lots of fun times with you & Joan, up at the ski hill, and at different gatherings. I remember when I found out that Mrs. Marcolli & Kerri (who were my neighbors in the apt. in Revelstoke when I 1st got married) was your Mum & Sister? I could not believe what a small world it was? You loved to collect antiques, and you had this Special smile, that you just never really knew what you were thinking! Tim called to let me know of this sad news... I can not get your smile & words out of my head, I hope you are at Peace Betty. We were all Lucky to have known you & to have had you as a friend. Lois Gilbert

    To the Marcolli Family,

It's with a sincere and sad heart I write this letter. Life is so strange. Leona and I were good friends in our teens, but Betty and I were more life time friends.

Over the years our paths crossed in different places, usually it revolved around the good times. We ran into each other by chance at the Merritt Music Festival, hiking at Silver Star, shopping at Save On Foods and the list goes on.

Several years ago she and I drove to Nakusp for a School Reunion. We had such a great time! We shared stories with each other about growing up in Nakusp, and the people we knew, and the antics which played out. It was a weekend full of laughter.

I had to smile to myself, as some of the boys from her class still thought she was kind of, "cool".

Betty was true to yourself, said things, "how they were", without sugar coating them. I really liked her for that.

I must say, she really loved her family. Once she had an outing with one of the sisters, and she was very upset about it. She said to me, " all I want is to have my sister back". It was very touching. To me, she had a heart of gold.

In closing, I say, take the time to mourn, and be thankful she's pain free now. She'll be skiing, golfing, hiking and playing pickleball with the angels.

And Betty, dear friend, you flew away, but we'll meet again.

    All my love,

    Barb Michaud
