MAKELKI, Rose

MAKELKI, Rose

January 8, 1947 - May 19, 2023

Rose Makelki passed away on May 19, 2023, with her family by her side. She will be forever in their hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Makelki; children Theresa (Mike), Teri, and Tony (Bree); and grandchildren Ryley, Tyler, Adrianne, Colby, and Faith.

Rose was an outgoing, happy, bubbly chatterbox that everyone loved. She lived for her family and friends and nothing made her happier than to be with them. Rose truly exercised unconditional love. She spent a lifetime taking care of others: her children, grandchildren, husband, and friends. Her kindhearted nature led her to choose a career as a long-term care aid which could not have been more of a perfect fit as she lived to nurture everyone.

The family is sincerely grateful to everyone who loved and supported their mom and the family over this time of loss.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's name to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, hospicehousekelowna.com. The team at the Hospice House gave Rose amazing and loving care in her last few weeks.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna BC. Interment will follow the funeral mass at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow the interment at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
