LEHMAN, Donley (Don) Henry

LEHMAN, Donley (Don) Henry

Donley (Don) Henry Lehman, loving father of two mentally challenged boys, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the age of 79.

Don fell in his room. Paramedics took him to the Kamloops General Hospital. They immediately gave attention to his diabetic situation and tested him for Covid which was determined positive. After being transferred to Kelowna General Hospital and several weeks of oxygen and ventilator, he remained mostly unconscious until his death.

Don was born on December 29, 1942, in Edmonton to parents, Henry and Bernice Lehman. He graduated from Leduc High school, became a Realtor, worked for the BC Provincial Government during the WAC Bennett era. He married Rosella Matheusik and they had two boys, Rick and Keith.

Don used his Realtor knowledge to seek out potential properties to accommodate a group home for mentally challenged young adults. His passion was to provide a place with a high level of moral/ethical caregiving for his boys and others. Don loved to watch and listen to inspirational speakers such as Bobby Schuller.

Don is survived by his two boys Rick and Keith Lehman, (presently under the care of Community Living BC), and his sister Jodi Lehman. He is preceded by his wife, Rosella.

The Kelowna Everden Funeral Home will preside. The interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Garden in Kelowna.

There will not be a memorial service at this time.

Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, (250) 860-6440. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com
