November 3, 1959 - March 7, 2025
Deborah ‘Debbi’ Anne Kopetski passed away at 65 from medical complications on March 7, 2025. Her final peaceful moments in Kelowna Hospice House were spent with her children by her side. Although Debbi struggled with her health for many years, she prided herself on her independence and grit.

Debbi could brighten a room and put a smile on any face. She was a pleasant and charismatic social butterfly who attracted beloved friends and cherished acquaintances throughout her life. Debbi worked over 20 years for Kelowna Tree Fruits, where she earnestly made everyone feel cared for and important.
Debbi is survived by her brothers Dennis Kopetski and Gerry Kopetski; her children Andrea (Nathan) Baron, David Reid, and Victoria (Damian) McGuinness; and her grandchildren Aiya Reid, Ethan Baron, Gabriel Reid, Annabel Baron, Delcan McGuinness, Georgia Baron, Davin McGuinness, and Grace Baron.

I’m so sorry to hear of your mum’s death. I was her neighbour at Springrose. She had the kindest heart! She was always cooking up food for those who needed it. She bore her health issues with great fortitude and most importantly, she loved her family. Her grandkids especially. My condolences to all the family. Andrea, David, Vicki, and family. We are so sad to hear of your mom’s passing. Sadly our paths haven’t crossed much lately, other than a text chain on our birthdays and a few emails throughout the year, but both Bob and I have such great memories of our family get togethers when you and our children were growing up … and of course all those great May long weekend hillclimb parties. In later years our contact with your mom was occasional visits or random run ins around town. I always waved to her apartment when we pulled into Home Hardware. We wish we could attend your mom’s service but weather in the mountain passes won’t let us get back to Kelowna in time. Please know our love, hugs, and prayers are with you all. - Bob and Stacie Osborne - Mar 13, 2025

Debbi had huge impact on me personally and I am extremely saddened by her passing. She was an amazing volunteer for the Knox Mountain Hillclimb, and many racers owe her thanks for her involvement in the success of the events she helped successfully run.
Outside of her involvement in racing, I know she was an amazing mom, wife, grandma, and friend to those privileged enough to have been the recipient of her care and love. - John R - Mar 12, 2025
