***UPDATED SERVICE INFO***

I just wanted to make sure you were all aware of Harry Klassen's celebration of Life at Bad Tattoo on June 10th.
The day will start at 1:00 and end at 3:00. A small program will happen in the middle. 1:30-2:30.
There will be a slideshow, so if you have any pictures of our dad please forward them on to me as Abigael my daughter is formatting a slide show.
As well, whether you're able to come or not, there will be an open mic for those who would like to share a memory or if you want to write one down. We can read it out for you.
Some details about the place. We will be having pizza there and if you would like a beverage you'll be able to order it there and also pay for it.
Well, we (Wayne, Gary, Lindine and myself) look forward to seeing you all (if it works) on June 10th at 1:00 PM.

***

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Harold (Harry) Klassen, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, son, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Harry passed away at home peacefully with his wife and family members by his side on December 30, 2022. He was 82 years old.

He was born in Morris, Manitoba to Peter and Anne Klassen. He was the youngest brother to Abe, Elsie, Edna, Gerry and Andy, (all predeceased) and the older brother to his sister Sharon.

In 1961 Harry met Mary Bergen and shortly after they were married. In that following year they moved back to Kelowna with their new born son David.

Those early years were hard, but Harry managed alongside his wife to raise a family of five, now including Wayne and Gary. He took on mechanics apprenticeship through Chapmans and traveled back and forth to Vancouver where he studied to become a heavy-duty mechanic at BCIT. He would become a master mechanic after 30 + years and worked with companies like Kelowna motors, Chapmans and Motorways.

Harry would remarry in 1990 to Lindine Sinclair and would retire from the grease and grime of mechanics into a new career with Gallagher's Canyon Golf Course until his retirement in 2008. Together they RV’ed around the US and Canada, spending their time with their Arizona friends, engaging in many social activities. Together, they were active and engaging contributors to their large blended family, and were huge fans and supporters of their grandchildren’s endeavours.

Harry is survived and mourned by his wife Lindine, sister Sharon (Larry), sons; David (Rushia), Wayne, Gary, grandsons Jordan, Adam (Ana), Caleb (Stephanie), Marek (Lindsay), Daniel, grand daughters; Hannah, Carolyn (Oliver), Abigael, Linda and great grandchildren; Brontë, Dominic, Harper and Kingston.

Harry also had a large extended family with his wife Lindine, stepdaughter Wanda(Peter) and grandfather to; Chris(Karolie), Doug(Dana), Nicole(Joel) and great grandchildren; Caleb, Colby, Kenzie, Austin, Avlyn and Julian.

If you'd like to honor his legacy, please make a donation to the Kelowna Cancer Clinic (www.bccancerfoundation.com) in Harry's name.
