KIRK, Laurine Ella (ne Forscutt)

November 28, 1922 - February 14, 2023

Laurine Kirk passed peacefully to be with Jesus, with family at her side, on February 14, 2023, in Kelowna, BC, at the wonderful age of 100 years.

Laurine was born November 28, 1922, in Padstow, Alberta. She moved as a child to Royston, BC on Vancouver Island for a few years, then spent many years in Vancouver, BC. Laurine worked in the office, alterations, window dressing, and as a model for the Famous Department Store as well as Spencer's, in downtown Vancouver. In 1949, Laurine married Doug Kirk, orchestra leader at the Commodore Cabaret in Vancouver, and they raised two daughters. She then worked for Eaton's in Vancouver in Gift Shipping. Laurine was pre-deceased by her husband in 1985.

Laurine moved to Kelowna, BC in 1995, then to Westbank, BC in 2021. Laurine was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and crocheter (along with other crafts) which many were blessed with. She loved gardening and trees, and her favourite place in recent years was the Gellatly Nut Farm. Laurine walked in her faith and attended Evangel Church in Kelowna.

Laurine is survived by daughters Dolores (Don Peerenboom), Heather (Ross Bedore); grandsons Robin, Bryan (Julie), Dennis (Samantha), Kevin (Courtney), and Michael (Barbra); step-grandchildren Kevin and Katie; great-grandchildren Amanda, Gabriel, Jayden, Hunter, and Sawyer; step-great-grandchildren Craig, Jared, Aidan, and Noah; and great-great-grandchildren Ryder and Kinley.

Laurine will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Laurine, we love you and miss you so much; we are better people for having had you in our lives. Mom, you made a mark… Thank you.

The family wish to thank the Evangel Church family as well as the amazing staff and residents at Regency Westwood for your kindness and love shown to Mom over the years, and the support and love shown to her family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations suggestions are: Teen Challenge Okanagan, teenchallengebc.com, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC
