It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Kantz on July 8, 2017 at the age of 94 in the care of his loving daughter Shirley. A private graveside service for Joseph will be held on July 14, 2017 at 2:45pm in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Home 250-762-2299.

Dear Shirley, we are very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. We were happy that we knew him. We met him and your Mom when we went to buy peaches from them many years and continued to for years. Joe was one of our / and my favourite customers , he inspired me with his energy , wit and honesty . Because of Joe I want to work until I am 90 and live to be 109 . He taught me life can be great at any age especially at an older age . Joe I salute you and will miss you but thank you for the memories you left with me .

A Prince of a Man, always saw the positive, and very plesant in conversation. Will always remember seeing him out in his shiny, late model car in the summer, enjoying his passion for ice cream, which he truly raised to an art form of living in the moment! One of life's great lessons!

We would like to pass on our condolences to Joe's family. The dance community at the Rutland Seniors Centre have enjoyed Joe's company for many years. He will be sadly missed by Vic & the band and his many friends and dance partners.

So sad to hear about Joe passing on. He was a wonderful neighbour and we always enjoyed his stories and he was always over to help when Don had a job to do.

I am proud to have known Mr. Kantz all of my life. He was a man that always had time to chat and was very proud of the agriculture industry in Kelowna. He was always smiling and had tremendous respect for everyone he come in contact with.
