JAEGER, Carey Lewis

JAEGER, Carey Lewis

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Carey Lewis Jaeger on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the Penticton Regional Hospital with his family at his side, after battling pancreatic cancer.

Owner and Operator of Ellis Creek Autobody and long-time resident of Penticton who was always committed to the community and quietly did his work and helped the residents in this valley with their vehicles, never expecting praise or recognition. Owning his auto body shop and working on cars was his passion.

Carey had a dignity and honour about him and was the first person who would offer his assistance to anyone who needed it. He always demonstrated a true generosity of spirit toward people and touched so many people’s lives in Penticton. Anyone who knew Carey was moved by his kindness. He loved his family with everything in him, and the many adventures, escapades, traveling and learning about the world, his love for animals, and living life in general are some of the memories we will have of him to forever cherish.

He had wit and great intelligence, along with a sense of humor where you couldn’t help but laugh and he was such a good sport…he would always start out with objections but would then participate and inevitably steal the show! The Christmas Elf Dance just being one of those moments that became a tradition of laughing until you cried and begging for more.

Carey is survived by the love of his life, his wife, soulmate, and partner in crime Elizabeth (Amies), his beloved sister Barb, his sister Janice, his loving sister-in-law and friend Alison (Amies), his cousin Jackie (Sis), her husband Rob (daughters Anna, and Julia), his nieces and nephews (Patrick, Carmen, Katrina, Kristen, Karla, and their families including Shane, Mich, Isla, Kane, Audrey, Sloan, Harlow), many more great nieces and nephews, his dearest friends Edgar Schroeder and his family (Jamie, Manuela, Cynthia), Trevor Treliving, and many more extended family, and close friends too numerous to name but carried in his heart.

We would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and all staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital (SP3) for your compassion and supreme care. We would also like to thank Shades Restaurant and your staff for your support, love, and numerous meals provided during Carey’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to https://pancreaticcancercanada.ca/ or to the

A private family Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. A notice will be posted in the Western Newspaper when the date for the Celebration has been established.

Carey always said that Penticton was his ‘Piece of Paradise’. So now my love, you go to your next paradise, where no suffering shall be…goodnight my sweet prince, rest with the angels now for I will be there soon. I will always be your girl!
