    Dear Joan and family,
It seems unimaginable that this wonderful man has left us. Our world is indeed a sadder place without him. Ellis and Joan enriched our lives in so very many ways. We continually count our blessings for having met them all. Joan will miss Ellis beyond belief. We pray good memories and faith with provide her and family with the tools to move forward. He definitely left us all many joyful moments.
    With love and sympathy,

To the Hughes Family....so many years as a fabulous neighbor in Lakeview Heights. Ellis' kind, gentle manner was always a treat for us, as kids and more so as adults. A sad time always and a good time to cherish the memories and the special moments over all the amazing years. Keep his memory alive with his grandkids by sharing the stories and keep the sharing the kindness.
    Thoughts with you..

Dear Joan and family, I was sad to read of Ellis's passing. Ellis was such a kind and decent man and I am glad I had the opportunity to know him. I have many fond memories of time spent with him and your family. You will all miss him so much but I know you will each go on to live your lives in ways that will honour his memory. Know my thoughts are with you all. Take care and be well. Lisa Thompson.

To my dear friend and neighbor, Joan. Ellis was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly. Meeting you both was a blessing to my life. I can't imagine the loss you and your precious family are feeling. Card games just won't be the same without his smirk when he's about to kick our butts! And no one makes coffee like Ellis! I will cherish every memory, there are many, and know that all of our lives have been blessed by knowing him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this very difficult time.
    Sincerely, Kathy Y
