HOWE, Julie Sophie

Passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017
at the age of 86. Julie is survived by son, Jim
(Sandra Ritchie), her grandchildren, Samuel,
Andrea (Jason) McLean and great granddaughter
Lucy and grandson Derek (Jody). She was so
proud of them all. Julie was predeceased by her
husband Morris in 2000 and son John in 2006.

  "Mrs Howe", was my favourite teacher .. in grade 3, at Bankhead Elementary in 1988, I had just started at the school, she made me so comfortable, the old couch she brought in for our reading corner.. was a place of comfort and refuge. I will never forget her voice, and her kindness. Years later when my dad passed away, she came to his funeral, and gave me the biggest hug. It meant so much to me. Heaven gained an angel for sure.   As a student at North Glenmore in the early 80's, Mrs. Howe was my teacher for grade 2 and 3. She was passionate about teaching not collecting a check as some teachers do. I also remember her always giving a student the bumps on his or her birthday. Mike Maruszczak

  Julie was very good to our children while they attended North Glenmore Elementary School. One summer she gave of her time to come to our home to tutor one of our children who had missed school due to illness......a BIG kindness which was greatly appreciated. I used to see her walking her dogs, many years ago, and we'd have a little chat. You deserve your rest now Julie. Our sincere sympathy to Julie's family.
