Betty was such a nice neighbor and friend. Her smile and happy disposition will be sadly missed in our Condo building. It was a pleasure to have known her and I am happy to have given her one last hug a couple of weeks ago. We are very sorry for your loss Susan. Frank & Jeri Truman

My deepest sympathies to the family of this special lady. Although I did not really know Betty other than in passing I was always delighted by her special smile and bright blue eyes. Other than Susan who was a most devoted daughter I did not know the rest of the family but being raised by this lovely lady I would assume they were all of the same ilk.

I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. What a wonderful, unique person she was. Back in the 1990s her daughter Linda bought a house in West Seattle, not far from where I live. Linda and I know each other because we both worked for the same department at the University of Washington. After Linda bought her house, her parents drove down from BC Canada to visit. I was invited over to meet them. It's a meeting I'll never forget. My goodness. Did her parents know how to live, or did they know how to live? They did, that's for sure. Overriding our entire afternoon tea, was my surprise at the variety of offerings given along with the proper hot tea. Everything was delicious and included a sweep of tasteful offerings. To Betty and Linda, it was a casual Saturday afternoon visit with tea. No big deal. To me, it was a BIG deal. My first real tea. At my first meeting with her, Betty was cheerful, funny, smart, and happy. The four of us sat and talked for hours. I enjoyed myself and them so much. That set the tone for our subsequent visits. I delighted in her company. Betty was an eager and fearless traveler. She was was so fortunate in later years that her girls traveled so many places with her. I will remember her bright inquisitive blue eyes, brunette hair and her wonderful, kind and engaged expression. I loved hearing her stories and have so much respect for her. No wonder her children are special. My sympathy to her wonderful family.

To the family of Betty, I had the pleasure of meeting Betty in 2016 and instantly had a bond with her. For 2 years, I looked forward to her smiling face in delivering weekly to her apartment on Ambrosi. I would always rap on the door 5 times in a certain tune, and she would rap back twice at me to finish the tune. She had an amazing view of Kelowna! Our conversation would include how proud she was of her family, describing her adventures back in England, her families successes, and her vacations. I can still hear her voice saying "bye love" in her sweet England accent. She was a wonderful lady and I know she will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. My sincere heart felt condolences goes out to all of Betty's Family and Friends.
