HANDLEY, Patricia (Trish) Rosemary
Handley, Patricia (Trish) Rosemary, passed away on July 30th, 2019 after a very long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Trish was born November 5th, 1943 in Hull, England. She emigrated with her husband (Bob) and two small children to Vancouver in 1967. The family enjoyed many years living in the West End and enjoying Stanley Park as their backyard. A move to Richmond was a followed by a move to Penticton in 1974. Within the next several years, all the remaining immediate family from England also emigrated to the Okanagan. Trish enjoyed a long career in banking. She loved to garden, sew, travel, entertain family/friends and in later years found the love of camping. In 2014, Trish and Bob moved to Kelowna where they created yet another beautiful garden, her healing place.
Trish is survived by her husband Bob, her two children Debbie and Garry (Heidi) and her sister Sue (William). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Carmen, Mathew, Mitchel, Max and Zoe and several nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. No flowers by request, all donations to the Red Cross.

We were neighbours and very good friends of Trish and Bob when we all lived on Heritage Blvd in Penticton. Trish was my walking buddy and we laughed and walked our legs off together - so many happy memories. They visited us in Campbell Rvr after our move. She was such a sweet, lovely lady always putting family and friends first. When she received her diagnosis, we were devastated for her and Bob and always prayed and hoped for the best of healthy outcomes. Sadly this was not to be. We are thinking of you Bob and all your family. May she rest in peace. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Carol and Dave Mason

I am quite certain I speak for all of our neighbours on Wintergreen Drive that it was from the very first day four years ago when Bob and Trish moved into our neighbourhood that we gained a lot. We were sad to see Jim and Ann moving out of that house on the corner but it was not long before we got to know Bob and Trish and knew that our neighbourhood was still okay.
Virginia said to me the other day that Trish reminded her of a beautiful butterfly - always looking good and sharing her beauty and happiness with everyone that came into her day. It is not so often we get to know a lady with such an engaging smile that could light up a room with the enthusiasm she had for life. She inspired us all.
You'll be missed good friend and neighbour.
